In the years leading towards the publication of RECIST 1.1, the RECIST Working Group acquired individual data from 16 large published trials in metastatic solid tumours from several sources (Eur J Cancer. 2009 Jan;45(2):248-60). The response and progression outcomes in this database were calculated using adjusted RECIST methodology and compared to the original RECIST version 1.0.
The RWG continues to investigate the possibilities of alternative interpretations of measurement data, especially with respect to the predictive effect of the evolution of such data on overall survival:
